One of My Heroes: My Mom

One of My Heroes:  My Mom

My mom is very hard working.  My mom does everything for me.  She always makes time for me and helps me whenever I need help.  She always helps anyone if they need help.  She is so kind to everyone.  My mom tries so hard for everyone, and I love her.

I’m Talking Slimy

I’m Talking Slimy

(a thesaurus poem)

I’m talking slimy!

I’m talking gooey!

I’m talking muddy, mucky!

I’m talking slushy, oozing, slippery!

I’m talking clammy, yucky, scummy, mire!

I’m talking glutinous, mucous, totally smelly!

I’m talking SLIMY!

Things to Do if You Are Stuck in a Cave

Things to Do if You Are Stuck in a Cave

Start a campfire.
Make slime out of crumpled up rocks and goo.
Carve a picture of Candyland in the wall of the cave.
Punch the walls to make hallways.
Keep punching for so long that you get to the ocean and find drinking water.
Get sick by drinking salt water by mistake.
This is all of my list because I dug a big hole to plant a flower.

If I Were in Charge of the World

If I Were in Charge of the World

(Form change poem with thanks to Judith Viorst)

If I were in charge of the world,
I’d cancel war, mean things, and also burnt bad steak.

If I were in charge of the world,
There would be more loving God, more kindness, and lots of pasta.

If I were in charge of the world,
You wouldn’t have hurting people,
You wouldn’t have sin,
And you wouldn’t have to eat fish.

If I were in charge of the world,
Pasta, pasta, and more pasta would be a balanced meal.
All people would be loving.
And a person who sometimes is very messy
And sometimes forgets to brush their hair
Would still be allowed to be
In charge of the world.
